How long have you worked at Create Gift Love?
What’s your background and how did you end up working with wood?!
I studied Design Engineering at Bournemouth University and I've always had a passion for learning about resistant materials since school, so I guess it was a natural progression to work in this type of environment. I met Tony whilst on work experience and I was offered a job once Create Gift Love gained momentum.
What’s your favourite product and why?
My favourite product is the Acrylic and Wood Keyring as I love the blend of the materials together. Its also a great way to carry around your favourite photo, especially those with pets on. I love dogs!
Describe a day in the office/workshop.
I start work at 8am. My first task of the day is to go through the orders and start preparing the artwork, checking that the automation is pulling through all of the correct automation. I then turn on our heavy duty printer and begin to run our photo orders, this includes keyrings, photo blocks, coasters and keepsake cards. I also deal with customer queries and products FAQs as well as overseeing the quality control process of the products that have come through from the workshop. All in all I make sure everything ticks along and I try to foresee any problems before they arise.
What are the busiest times of the year for you?
Christmas is by far the busiest time of year for us! We are usually preparing between 800-1000 bespoke orders per day. It's a huge challenge but it's a great feeling knowing that we are helping to make Christmas that extra bit special for the recipients.
What’s the most challenging aspect of your job?
Growing with the business at such a fast rate.
