Love is at the heart of Create Gift Love – it’s in our name, of course, and it’s woven into everything we do, from the sourcing of our natural materials to the care and attention put into making our gifts, and the personalised stories they tell.
Our keepsakes are designed to celebrate the memories and moments our customers hold close, and we want to make those moments happen for as many people as possible by sharing the love with causes and organisations that need our support. Last year we introduced our 1% charity donations scheme and we wanted to give you an update on where we are now.
For every quarter we choose a cause which aligns with our values, and at the end of each period 1% of Create Gift Love revenue from those months is donated to the charity. That’s total revenue too, not just profit. Often you’ll see charity schemes where a percentage of profits are donated or revenue from a particular product line, but we wanted to keep it simple. Every time you shop at Create Gift Love, 1% of whatever you spend goes somewhere to make a difference.
We’re only a small business but we want to make an impact where we can, and by introducing these kinds of schemes from the ground up it means that our impact will only get bigger as we continue to grow, and we’ll be able to support more causes that we believe in, because we think there’s more than enough love to go around.
The charities we have donated to so far all support families and communities in need, facing difficulties which could so easily affect any one of us. We are so grateful for the work they do and are proud that our customers can contribute to it. Here is a roundup of the organisations your orders have helped to support since October 2020.
The Trussell Trust
In October - December 2020 we are donated to The Trussell Trust, an invaluable organisation who provide emergency food and support to people locked in poverty, and campaign for change to end the need for food banks in the UK. They estimate that there are over 14 million people living in poverty in the UK and at the height of the COVID19 pandemic in April 2020, The Trussell Trust saw a staggering 89% increase in demand, meaning their network of 1,200 nationwide food banks has been more vital than ever.

The Alzheimer’s Society
At the beginning of the year from January – March 2021 our charity donation went to The Alzheimer’s Society. Alzheimer’s has touched a few members of the Create Gift Love team over the years and as our products are so closely related to memory we felt that the Alzheimer’s Society was particularly fitting. Their team campaign for change, fund research to find a cure, and support people living with dementia today.

Ashley’s Birthday Bank
In April - September 2021 we supported Ashley's Birthday Bank, a local charity to us based in Christchurch, Dorset, who provide a vital service for children and families in the Bournemouth, Poole and Christchurch area.
Ashley's Birthday Bank provided underprivileged children with birthday and Christmas presents to ensure they don't go without on special occasions, and they also offer an essential crisis service for families in financial difficulty or those escaping domestic violence, neglect, trafficking or abuse. They are facing increasing demand in our area and rely solely on donations.
